24x18 in ~ Painting, Oil
'The Little Castle of Ringmahon' is an oil on canvas that I painted in 1992. It is one of many studies of the castle that I have done over the years. The little castle is a 'folly' that still stands today; however, the local authority undertook some remedial work on it in recent years so the 'old rustic' feel is gone. If you want to find it, travel on the No.302 Bus route to Blackrock from Cork city and it is just opposite the terminus there. A print of this particular prize winning canvas was used in the Cork Civil Trust calendar that year. The castle was also the inspiration behind my design for a local school's crest. A set of limited edition prints, signed and stamped by the artist, is available; email Mícheál for full details.
